Rainwater Harvesting System Overview

Previous rainwater harvesting systems, known as cisterns, were primitive and the only source of water before electricity and well drillers.  Today’s rainwater harvesting systems are much more cost effective, efficient and practical.  Efficient water management and use in Texas is critical due to a limited water supply, growing population and rising water costs.

A typical rainwater harvesting system usually consists of the following components.
