Rainwater Harvesting Resources

Rainwater harvesting is an alternate water supply and management approach that anyone can use. Harvested rainwater can be stored in rain barrels, above-ground or below-ground tanks, ponds, and cisterns.  It can offset part of the municipal or well water that would be used for landscape irrigation.

The rainwater harvesting group of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service educates Texans about rainwater harvesting as an alternate or supplemental source of water so that they can have a sustainable source of water. They also educate about rainwater harvesting as means to control storm water runoff, which helps to reduce pollution in our rivers and streams.
